The dog on the left is Clementine, she was found lying in a yard in North Philadelphia, open cuts on her legs and face with no food or water in the yard. When our humane officer called to her, she could wag her tail but was too weak to stand up. After clinical treatment and foster care, she is now waiting to be adopted. She's a loving and kind little dog. The dog in the center is Google. Google was rescued during a dog fighting investigation. The only food in the yard was a bowl of moldy rice and beans meant to feed all the dogs. The dogs were surrendered to the Philly humane officers. Despite being horrifically neglected, Google is a gregarious and happy dog who now needs a loving home. The dog on the right is David. He was kept in a small crate with another dog for most of his life. He was never walked. Never given proper food or veterinary care. David's whole world was just that crate. That may be why he is so small(he’s full-grown but only weighs 20 lbs.) David is timid but gentle and loves his sister Virginia who is also available for adoption.

Who are the 2nd chance dogs?
The 2nd Chance Dogs of the Pennsylvania SPCA are pit bulls rescued from abuse and neglect by our Humane Law Enforcement Officers or found as strays by our Animal Control Officers in Philly. When they arrive they are weak, tormented and helpless. The care they receive at the Pennsylvania SPCA is often the first time they ever receive veterinary care, the first time they are touched by a loving hand, and the first time they can sleep safely out of reach of their abusers. Once given a second chance, these dogs learn to run and play and forget their past abuses. They make loyal and loving companions to their adopters. Doesn't every dog deserve a second chance?
2nd Chance Dogs
These three dogs have a second chance at life. All the time people at the PSPCA hear about dog fighting in Philly, Since "redemption" and "rehabilitation" have recently become buzzwords in Philadelphia with the announcement of Michael Vick's signing by the Philadelphia Eagles, ever since that headline hit Philly more people came out to support against dog fighting. Support the 2nd Chance Dogs of the Pennsylvania SPCA today by donating to their rescue, care, and placement into loving homes.

Every week on pspca.org they have a sidebar that has a pet of the week! I will be doing the same thing on my side bar. It will be the same pet but I reword the caption under the picture on the site. All the of the\ pets I post are able to be adopted in Pennsylvania's PSPCA shelters!

What is the PSPCA?

The PSPCA is an organization that stands for Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Animal Cruelty. This is not to be confused with the ASPCA, the ASPCA is in New York.
The PSPCA is not associated to the ASPCA. All SPCAs are their own organization within the state. The PSPCA is in Philadelphia but "branch" shelters are also in Montrose, Stroudsburg, Danville, Centre Hall, and Wellsboro.
